Biasbreakdown’s latest column over at The Daily Caller covers the message and tone of Obama’s astonishing Roanoke speech, but there were a few more gems in there that warrant mentioning. When reading these quotes, keep in mind that people have called Obama our smartest president ever. He rained down pure nonsense, but that didn’t keep the dupes in Roanoke from fainting due to the heat:
1. “We’re seeing more money flooding into the system than ever before, more negative ads, more cynicism. A lot of the reporting is just about who’s up and who’s down in the polls instead of talking about the things that matter in your day-to-day life.”
Obamillogic #1: Obama releases attack ads regarding where Romney worked ten years ago and what he paid in taxes over three years ago. The media, taking their cues from the Obama campaign, write stories about this. Obama then complains that these stories don’t matter.
2. “And I’d think about how, when my grandfather came back home, because of this country he was able to get an education on the GI Bill and they were able to buy their first home using an FHA loan.”
Obamillogic #2: Obama’s grandfather fights in a hellish war that ensures the government’s ability to exist. In return for risking his life for his country, he gets an education through the GI Bill. Sixty years later, his grandson defines him by his dependence on government. Ouch.
3. “(W)e were running two wars on a credit card… And so now it’s time for us to take half of the money we were saving on war and pay down our deficit, and use the other half to do some nation-building here at home.”
Obamillogic #3: Say a war is costing you $100 billion on your credit card, and so it’s all debt when you also send your parents money to help with cost of living and medical bills. You can’t even make the minimum monthly payments. Obama’s solution to your problem is to take out a second credit card to pay off half the debt on the first, and install new plumbing in your home.
